Lots Of New Work!

"Duet"   20"x20"  oil on canvas

I'm gearing up for several great art shows this fall (yet to be confirmed) and the Studio is brimming with new work!  Also....if you happen to be in the NE part of town, the pieces currently hanging at Portland, Oregons' favorite pie place, Pie Spot, is set to close at the end of April. Get yourself some pie and take 20% off whatever is left on the wall.  Or.....come on down to the Studio for cuppa (or glassa) something and take a gander at my latest!

Stonehenge Gallery Reception February 21!

Together  oil on panel

Stonehenge Designs will be hosting an art reception for my solo show on February 21, 2014.  Originally scheduled two weeks prior to this, the snow, ice and all round inclement weather kept the doors from opening that evening.  Friday the 21st is coming right up and looking good weather wise.  It's definitely worth a trip to 3508 SW Corbett Avenue, Portland, Oregon.  We'll have snacks, wine,  great company and art!  Drop by any time from 5:30 -7:30.

Passing By

6"x6"  oil on canvas  Sold

January 1 of this year, I became the proud renter of a new studio, and although it took me several icy winter months to get it up and running, it was worth every sore muscle and drop of perspiration I put into it.  Then I was T-boned by a car that ran a stop sign and I lost a bunch of time trying to get my legs to work right.  But that's another story for another time.

This little guy was painted not too long ago in anticipation for the Holiday's.  Not too big, not too pricey and just what every inspiring art collector could want. If you're in the area, come on by.

As The Crow Flies

6"x6" oil on canvas

This work was painted to be included in the Wild Arts Festival fundraiser for the Portland, Oregon Audubon Society. Art Media (a local art store soon to become "Dick Blick"), donated the 6 inch by 6 inch canvases and asked artists to donate their time and talent to create a piece of art that will be sold at the festival held on November 19 and 20, 2011.  If you're in the neighborhood, stop by 2701 Vaughn street. It's a lot of fun!

Endless Possibilities

36"x36" oil on canvas $4,800

After doing quite a few smaller works, I decided to take the size up a notch. At 3 feet by 3 feet, this cloud vista is impressive on the wall!

The Concert

This piece was just finished and came off the easel a few days ago. It is a commission for a collector (and good friend) of mine. She gave me a specific size, color scheme and subject matter and this is what came off the brush. Normally for a commission there is a couple of emails depicting the work in progress. That didn't happen this time, but thankfully she loves the end result. Mission accomplished.

Rising Clouds

8"x8" oil on panel $400

This little gem was was painted on birch panel. I've done a handful now, and the more I use the panels, the more I enjoy them as opposed to painting on canvas. I've been buying them with a 2 inch cradle (sides) so they really pop off the wall.

Waiting Their Turn

12"x12" oil on canvas $700

Lately, distant vistas, vast skies and voluminous clouds have been a recurring theme of mine. As we are still in the midst of a Pacific Northwest winter with many months to go before the skies clear up and the sun comes out, I had to find a way to access the kind of beauty and warmth that I longed for. So I painted it! This piece will be one of many to be in my next show at the Scott-Milo Gallery in Anacortes, Wa.
